The 7-1-7 Alliance—hosted by Resolve to Save Lives—presented the inaugural 7-1-7 Awards at the Global Health Security Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ceremony honored individuals whose contributions are making outbreak detection, notification, and response faster and more accountable around the world.

The four 7-1-7 awards recognized outstanding achievement in advocacy and leadership, real-world impact, next-generation innovation, and research:

  • 7-1-7 Advocacy and Leadership Award: Dr. Tamara Mancero, Pan American Health Organization
  • 7-1-7 Impact Award: Dr. Angelo Goup Thon Kouch, Ministry of Health, South Sudan
  • 7-1-7 Nextgen Award: Dr. Peeriya Watakulsin, Department of Disease Control, Thailand
  • 7-1-7 Research Award: Dr. Alex Riolexus Ario, Uganda National Institute of Public Health

The four winners were selected from a field of 17 nominees—each of whom represents the depth of talent and dedication driving progress on 7-1-7 across the globe.

The 7-1-7 Alliance plans to continue this tradition of celebrating the individuals behind global progress on outbreak response—building on the momentum of a growing community now engaged with more than 90 countries.
