Who we are
Global health experts on a mission to stop preventable deaths

Millions of people die from preventable health threats. These deaths don’t just devastate families, they also weaken communities and economies.
Solutions exist but are out of reach for too many people. We collaborate to close the gap between proven, life-saving solutions and the people who need them. Since 2017, we’ve worked with governments and other partners in more than 60 countries to save millions of lives.
We work toward a future where people live longer, healthier lives, communities flourish, and economies thrive. This is an ambitious vision, and it inspires us and our partners to make progress every day.
Resolve to Save Lives was created by Dr. Tom Frieden, former director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our initial funders include Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Gates Philanthropy Partners, which is funded with support from the Chan Zuckerberg Foundation.

Our impact
Epidemic prevention
More than two dozen countries identify and stop disease outbreaks faster, reducing the risk of the next pandemic.

Blood pressure control
We’ve supported 40 countries and counting to treat more than 34 million people for high blood pressure, reducing their risk of heart attack, stroke, and premature death.
This is how how countries are controlling high blood pressure at scale
Healthier food
Since we partnered with WHO to eliminate artificial trans fat from the global food supply, nearly 4 billion people are now protected from this deadly toxin, preventing more than 9 million future deaths.

Digital transformation
Resolve to Save Lives’ solutions are powered by digital tools that work for health care workers, including on-demand mobile training costing just $2 per capita compared with $60 for traditional training.

COVID-19 response
We supported 60+ countries and trained 40,000 health care workers who care for over 122 million people.
These are the lessons we learned about saving lives from COVID-19

How we save lives
