Dr. Syed Imran Farooq is the Executive Director of Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) in India, leading the organization’s national strategy to strengthen cardiovascular health and reduce preventable deaths from hypertension. Under his leadership, RTSL India works closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and state governments to advance hypertension detection and control, sodium reduction, and the elimination of industrially produced trans fats, while supporting the Ayushman Bharat Mission to strengthen primary health care. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Resolve to Save Lives Services Private Limited.
Dr. Imran brings more than two decades of health sector leadership across India and Southeast Asia. Before joining RTSL, he was Chief of Party for the USAID Tuberculosis Private Sector Activity in Indonesia with FHI 360, and earlier held senior leadership roles with the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, PATH, and the World Health Organization, working extensively on TB elimination, strategic health purchasing, and public-private partnerships.
Dr. Imran holds an MBBS from the University of Pune, a Post Graduate Diploma in Epidemiology from the Public Health Foundation of India, and an MBA in healthcare and project management.
