Workshop series prepares program managers to improve heart health

Philippines hypertension training

Resolve to Save Lives recently co-hosted it’s second competency-based training workshop for national and subnational program managers overseeing NCD and cardiovascular disease programs with the WHO Representative Office for the Philippines, and the Department of Health Philippines.

The program equips managers with the practical skills needed to effectively lead and strengthen national hypertension control programs. Over five days, participants worked through ten standardized modules using interactive, “learning by doing” approaches—including practical exercises, guided discussions, role plays, and peer-to-peer learning. On the final day, country teams developed and presented action plans that translated learning into concrete next steps for improving blood pressure control.

Thirty participants representing the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Myanmar completed this training—an important step to getting blood pressure under control and bringing evidence-based, life-saving interventions to more people around the world.
