Shri C.K. Mishra is a distinguished Civil Servant of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) with a remarkable career spanning over four decades. During his tenure, he served in prominent positions such as Union Secretary of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India (GOI). With extensive experience at both state and central levels, he also occupied key positions in ministries such as Textiles and Defense.
As Union Health Secretary, he led significant initiatives to improve public health in India and played a crucial role in the implementation of ‘Mission Indradhanush,’ the largest-ever focused campaign to immunize children, which resulted in a substantial increase in vaccination coverage nationwide. Shri Mishra’s invaluable contributions in leading one of the largest public health programs globally through the National Health Mission and heading the Empowered Group on COVID-19 management made a lasting impact on improving health outcomes in India.
Post-retirement in 2020, Shri C.K. Mishra remains actively engaged with international organizations, multinationals, and serving on advisory boards of prominent groups like Gates Venture led Exemplars in Global Health, Rockefeller Foundation, 3M, Serum Institute of India, Evidence Action US and Board chair at Shriram General Insurance.
Shri C.K. Mishra holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, a post graduate diploma in Media Law from NALSAR, Hyderabad.
