Girma Assefa Dessie serves as the Country Director for Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) in Ethiopia, where he provides strategic leadership, program oversight, and partnership management to advance the organization’s mission of preventing cardiovascular disease and epidemics. In this role, Girma leads a multidisciplinary team and works closely with the Ministry of Health, the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, and other key stakeholders to strengthen health systems, improve hypertension control, promote healthy public policies, and enhance epidemic preparedness and response.
With a strong background in public health program implementation, policy advocacy, and organizational leadership, Girma brings over two decades of experience managing health initiatives at both national and subnational levels. He is deeply committed to capacity building, data-driven decision-making, and fostering sustainable partnerships for long-term impact.
Girma holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in public health.
