Nigeria’s National Guidelines for Public Procurement of Food and Related Services provide nutrition standards to improve the quality of food served in public institutions and support healthier diets. Developed by the Government of Nigeria through a multi-sectoral process led by the Bureau of Public Procurement, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, with technical support from Resolve to Save Lives. The Guidelines help ensure that food purchased with public funds supports healthier diets and strengthens Nigeria’s efforts to prevent diet-related non-communicable diseases.
