The 7-1-7 target is expanding across major U.S. metropolitan areas, building stronger urban outbreak response capabilities nationwide. Public health officials from 10 major U.S. cities learned how to accelerate outbreak detection and response during a two-day workshop organized by the 7-1-7 Alliance, an initiative hosted by Resolve to Save Lives.
The workshop brought together representatives from Charlotte, Columbus, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Louisville, Milwaukee, Nashville and Tucson—as well as the state of Tennessee. Participants worked through simulated outbreak scenarios and analyzed real-world cases, including their own local outbreak data. Leaders from Tucson, Charlotte and Las Vegas—cities with proven 7-1-7 track records—shared practical insights for new adopters.
