The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has adopted a strategic plan for 2026–2031, which incorporates the 7-1-7 target for early outbreak detection and control, developed by Resolve to Save Lives, as an outcome indicator. The new plan sets an ambitious regional goal to achieve the target by 2031. This makes the Americas the second region of the World Health Organization after Africa to formally adopt 7-1-7 as a priority.
