With its implementing partner Wadhwani AI, RTSL India marked the completion of Rajasthan’s Initiative for Systemic Hypertension and Diabetes Intervention (RAHAT) project with a learning event for state and district government officials and other implementation partners.
From May 2024 to November 2025, the RAHAT project supported Rajasthan’s state NCD division to strengthen public health services for hypertension and diabetes. Technical assistance focused on training health care workers, implementing standardized treatment protocols, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential medicines and technologies, strengthening team-based and patient-centred care, and enhancing systems for monitoring.
During the event, the team shared that training health care providers, regularly monitoring and reviewing the program, and providing continuous support and guidance to health workers helped bring more patients under treatment. They also demonstrated the regular use of the national NCD portal to track patients, ensure follow-up, and support data-driven decisions. Together, these efforts led to improved blood pressure and diabetes control in the intervention district
The state and district government committed to take forward learnings from the project to support long-term improvements in hypertension and diabetes detection, treatment, and control in Rajasthan.
