When two cholera fatalities occurred in Myanmar, close to the Thai border, officials acted immediately to prevent a cross-border crisis. In addition to leveraging life-saving lessons from trainings that followed an E.coli outbreak, public health officials came together to form a cross-border field outreach team, worked with food vendors to stop sales of potentially contaminated food and implemented 7-1-7. As a result, Thailand saw just 10 cases and no reported deaths.
