Advancing 7-1-7 in the Eastern Mediterranean Region

Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Tunisia and Yemen participated in a four-day workshop in Amman, Jordan, hosted by the 7-1-7 Alliance in collaboration with EMPHNET and the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean. The workshop built a foundation for the sustained use of the 7-1-7 target for timely outbreak detection and control in the region. It combined technical training, simulation exercises and hands-on assessments using countries’ own outbreak data. Country teams drafted preliminary plans to facilitate future 7-1-7 adoption efforts.
