Packaged Food Sampling

2019

Nutrient types Sodium
Products sampled 3,897

Methods

Data between 2014-2019 on packaged food was obtained from the BADALI Database, which collects product-level data on nutrient composition and ingredients from the webpages of manufacturers and serving sizes for pre-cooked and ready-to-eat foods through of the websites of online supermarkets. Products were then sorted into 16 food groups for which mean, median, and minimum and maximum values for sodium content (mg/100g) values were calculated, along with standard deviations and inter-quartile ranges.
