Abduilhafiz Assen Endris joins Resolve to Save Lives as Technical Advisor, Collaborative Surveillance, within the Prevent Epidemics unit in Ethiopia.

With over 15 years of experience in the Ethiopian health system, Abduilhafiz has experience in the field of public health surveillance and response. His expertise includes investigating and responding to outbreaks, vulnerability risk assessment and mapping exercises (VRAM), developing emergency preparedness and response plans, and establishing surveillance systems during different situations, including the Early Warning and Response System (EWARS) during major public health emergencies. He also gained expertise in project evaluation and grant administration, including with the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA), while working at EPHI-PHEM.

Abdduilhafiz worked as a 7-1-7 consultant for RTSL, where he supported the Ethiopian Public Health Institution (EPHI) by providing technical assistance with stakeholder and institutional mapping for 7-1-7. He also made it possible for the directorate of preparedness and capacity-building to integrate the basics of 7-1-7 with appropriate metrics and reporting formats and the standards and processes already in place in institutional frameworks.

He attended Addis Ababa and Mekelle Universities to pursue degrees in public health and field epidemiology.
