On June 20, 2024, the 7-1-7 Alliance hosted a packed networking breakfast at the Global Health Security Conference in Sydney for partners engaged in the adoption and use of the 7-1-7 target for the timely detection, notification and response of infectious disease outbreaks in more than 15 countries and regions. Amanda McClelland, our senior vice president of Prevent Epidemics, Dr. Mohammed Lamorde, project director of the 7-1-7 Alliance, and Dr. Issa Makumbi, chair of the 7-1-7 Alliance Technical Steering Group.
7-1-7 was a prominent topic of discussion throughout the conference; the target was featured in several presentations including use cases from Brazil, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia. Kenya’s poster on the successful deployment of 7-1-7 in a Rift Valley Fever outbreak won best poster of the conference.
