Eric Nawar joins RTSL as Director, Data Analytics and Decision Science, and leads the Epidemic Intelligence Unit (EIU) in the Prevent Epidemics Team. Through direct support and capacity building, EIU focuses on leveraging data and systems to better prepare for and respond to epidemics.
Prior to pursuing a career in public health, Eric built a strong foundation in technology, working in software companies for 10 years. He then shifted his focus to public health, working for various organizations including the CDC and WHO. Prior to joining Resolve To Save Lives, Eric worked at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for 13 years, where he established and led the Informatics team which focused on optimizing data use for the Foundation.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University, a Master of Health Science in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins, and a Doctor of Science in Public Health from Tulane. Eric is based in Washington, DC, and is happiest when he’s watching any of his 3 children play sports.
